We called Mother Modern Plumbing for a quote to replace an older tankless hot water heater. Their quote came in much lower than other quotes we received. They were able to quickly install a new tankless unit. They arrived at the very start of the time window, and worked nonstop until completion. They had all required parts to handle both heater installation, gas rerouting, and roof ventilation. They provided electricians to handle the installation of an outlet. Very complete installation! Also, all communications with this company via phone, text, and email were all handled in a very quick turnaround time. They really cared that I had every question answered; both before and after installation. You are never left hanging and no question is left unanswered.

Great company. My favorite part is their good communication practices which are hard to find in today's world. Great service provided by Tyler and Melvin. Did a good job being flexible with my ever changing schedule and doing an in depth analysis of my issues and explaining numerous options that could fix the problems faced. Completely satisfied with the services received. Would recommend them to anyone and will use them again in the future

Frisco deserves better Tankless Water Heater Replacement solutions

Tankless Water Heater Replacement for Homeowners in Frisco, TX

Tankless water heater replacement in Frisco is often needed when older units reach the end of their service life or fail due to scale buildup, corrosion, or outdated gas and venting configurations. Many early-generation tankless systems installed in the 2000s–early 2010s were never properly maintained and no longer meet current performance or code expectations. Our plumbers replace tankless water heaters with a focus on gas capacity, venting safety, and long-term reliability.

Common Reasons Frisco Homeowners Replace Tankless Water Heaters

Tankless units typically need replacement when homeowners experience:

  • Inconsistent or reduced hot water output
  • Error codes related to ignition, flow, or overheating
  • Corrosion visible on the heat exchanger or cabinet
  • Units that have never been descaled and are heavily mineral-scaled

In Frisco, hard water significantly accelerates scale buildup, which is one of the leading causes of premature tankless failure.

Tankless Units We Install

We install high-efficiency natural gas tankless water heaters designed for North Texas demand and water quality, including:

  • Rinnai RU and RXP Series
  • Navien NPE-A and NPE-S Series
  • Bradford White Infiniti GR and GRX Series

Each replacement is selected based on flow rate requirements, BTU demand, and compatibility with the home’s gas system.

Example Tankless Water Heater Replacement in Frisco

A Frisco homeowner contacted us regarding a Rinnai tankless water heater manufactured in 2011. The unit had never been descaled and showed visible corrosion in multiple areas. Due to the age of the system, internal scale damage, and deteriorating components, replacement was recommended over repair. An estimate for a full tankless replacement was provided to restore reliable hot water and bring the system up to current standards.

When a Frisco Homeowner Should Upgrade to Tankless

Tankless replacement or upgrade is often a good fit if:

  • Your household frequently runs out of hot water
  • Multiple bathrooms are used simultaneously
  • You want improved energy efficiency compared to tank-style systems
  • Your existing tankless unit is over a decade old
  • You’re remodeling or adding bathrooms and need higher capacity

A proper evaluation ensures the system matches both usage patterns and infrastructure.

Tankless Water Heater Requirements

Tankless water heater replacement involves more than swapping the unit. Key requirements include:

  • Gas sizing: Many tankless systems require higher BTU input than older models, often necessitating gas line upsizing
  • Venting: Properly sized and approved vent materials with correct termination clearances
  • Water quality protection: Isolation valves and service ports for routine descaling
  • Electrical supply: Dedicated power for ignition and control boards
  • Flow rate sizing: Based on simultaneous fixture use and incoming water temperature

Skipping these requirements can lead to performance issues and shortened system lifespan.

Tankless Code Considerations in Frisco

Tankless installations in Frisco must generally comply with Texas plumbing and fuel gas codes, including:

  • Manufacturer-approved venting materials and configurations
  • Proper combustion air and exhaust clearances
  • Sediment traps and accessible gas shutoff valves
  • Temperature and pressure protection where required
  • Service access clearances for maintenance and repair

Code compliance helps ensure safe operation, proper combustion, and long-term durability.

What to Expect From a Tankless Water Heater Replacement

A professional tankless replacement includes system sizing, gas and vent evaluation, removal of the existing unit, installation of isolation valves, startup calibration, and safety testing. When done correctly, a tankless system delivers consistent hot water while avoiding the common failures seen in older or improperly installed units.

If your tankless water heater in Frisco is aging, corroded, or no longer performing reliably, replacement can restore capacity while correcting the underlying issues that caused the failure.

Tankless Water Heater Replacement Experts Serving Neighborhoods Across Frisco

Emerson Estates

This newer development west of the Dallas North Tollway features spacious homes built between 2014 and 2017 on quarter-acre lots. With construction dating to the 2010s, these properties typically have modern PEX plumbing and energy-efficient fixtures throughout. Frisco's moderately hard water at 8.6 gpg can lead to mineral accumulation in these newer systems, and we often recommend whole-house water softeners to protect appliances and reduce scale buildup. The smart home features common in these builds pair well with upgrades like smart water shutoff valves for added protection.

Lake Hill Village

Positioned in west Frisco near Lebanon Road, this established community features homes constructed primarily between 2001 and 2006. These early 2000s builds typically feature a combination of copper supply lines and PEX, with homes now approaching 20-25 years old. The mature landscaping throughout the community, while beautiful, can contribute to sewer line concerns from root intrusion, and we frequently provide hydro-jetting services to clear blocked lines. Original copper piping in some homes may also develop pinhole leaks due to water chemistry and age, making electronic leak detection valuable for early problem identification.

The Shores At Waterstone

This gated lakeside community at Lebanon Road and Highway 423 features upscale homes built from 2006 through 2015 on lots ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 acres. The mix of mid-2000s and newer construction means plumbing systems vary from early PEX installations to more modern configurations. With the community's proximity to water features and extensive irrigation systems, yard leak detection becomes especially important for property maintenance. The larger estate-style homes often have multiple water-intensive features like pools and outdoor kitchens, making water line repair and water pressure testing common service needs. Many homeowners also invest in whole-home water filtration to protect their luxury fixtures and appliances from hard water effects.
